In the middle of August, I finally reached the end of my rope with the current decor in my library. I’d prioritized other house projects up until this point, focusing on the first floor of the house, mostly on the rooms that company would see the most of. But it was time to get rid of the little-boy-blue in this room, as well as the DIY built-in shelves and Magic Spells curtains.

Messy room with blue walls and silly curtainsBefore: Reading nook. Filled with boxes, and one little gray cat. Those shelves had to go; that little nook that they’re in could be so much cuter.

purple wall in progress, with patchy paintAfter painting most of the room tan, it was time to get a first coat of purple on the accent wall. This is a beautiful purple color, Pansy Petal by Pittsburgh Paint. Definitely took a few coats, though, to look good.
