Working through conceptual site structure and user flows before beginning a high-fidelity wireframing process can help align the project to the users’ needs. Giving stakeholders something to talk through before putting more time into a project can also help to identify issues early on.
I created an Axure library to support quick generation of user flows and conceptual site maps. These micro-wires are easy to modify as needed, and using them, it’s easy to test out ideas and brainstorm in small groups prior to beginning deeper UX work.
