User Experience Designer – 7Summits
Feb 2013 – Present
I work with online communities, planning and documenting the user experience side of projects. I’ve done everything from quick and dirty WordPress site implementations to enormous Jive-based communities with lots of custom functionality. Techniques I use include user research, iterative site maps & wireframes, content work, client consulting, and more. Combining my information science education with usability best practices makes for great sites.
Major clients I’ve worked with include SAP, American Airlines, GE Healthcare, and Plex Systems.

Strategy Consultant – Zywave, Inc.
Jan 2012 – Feb 2013
As a strategy consultant, my job was to work with at-risk or developing clients to increase engagement and get them on the right track with the Zywave suite of insurance software. In this position, I developed stellar consulting skills, working with everyone from admin assistants to agency presidents, and solving a huge variety of problems. Fixing workflows, introducing features, and turning around bad attitudes were just some of the things I did to save accounts. I love getting to the heart of the problem and figuring out how the human side of the equation can solve everything.
Partner Support Specialist – Zywave, Inc.
Feb 2010 – Jan 2012
I provided telephone and email support to clients, for the entire Zywave suite of insurance software. I excelled in this position by a number of metrics, closing more cases, faster, and with better satisfaction scores than anyone else on my team. I also took on a number of special products, including authoring a technical guide to the Zywave support experience, recording training videos for new product releases, and doing research for product development.
Front End Manager – Kavarna, LLC
Jul 2008 – Feb 2010
As part of the management staff at Kavarna, my job was to manage the customer experience. I trained employees in proper drink preparation and developed their customer service skills. I developed and oversaw procedures to maintain smooth front-end operations, and I brought in new products and flavors to keep giving customers a fresh experience. Finally, I ran special events, including promotion through several social media channels.
Admin Assistant – Broadband Solutions, Inc.
Mar 2008 – Apr 2009
I got my foot in the door doing standard admin assistant work, updating fleet records and running Accounts Payable. But in my time at BSI, I also had the opportunity to oversee the transition to a new cell phone carrier, to transform a tired company newsletter into an HR and risk management asset, and using fleet safety data to create better drivers.
